FDAP Qualification
The Federation of Drug & Alcohol Professionals (FDAP), in partnership with Human Performance and the National Awarding Body EDI, are pleased to offer a bespoke development programme aimed at all managers and supervisors working within the substance misuse field. The FDAP Certificate in Supervisory Management & Leadership Techniques - Level 3 is an EDI Nationally Endorsed three day programme leading to the achievement of a Level 3 EDI Vocational Qualification and which addresses the core competences for managers of drug and alcohol professionals.
This programme is based around DANOS and other relevant occupational standards and is line with the guidance on management training set out in the NTA workforce targets and "DANOS 2012" and allows candidates to develop their own competence against those national occupational standards.

Programme Overview

This programme focuses on four key DANOS units and allows managers of drug and alcohol professionals to develop their own competence against these identified units. Successful completion of this programme leads to the achievement of a Level 3 EDI Endorsed Qualification.
What is this programme about?
This programme develops a candidate’s knowledge and understanding in the principles of management and leadership to enable them to more competently and effectively fulfil their roles. It focuses on three important management and leadership theories that are interesting and relevant to the management of drug and alcohol professionals; before developing these theories into the eight core functions of leadership – each linked to some highly practical techniques for improving your management and leadership skills. Who is this programme aimed at?
This FDAP/EDI Endorsed Qualification has been designed for managers and supervisors who have line management responsibility for other drug and alcohol professionals. No previous qualifications are required to gain access on to this workshop, although candidates must have line management responsibility for at least one other employee. This programme provides skills development to support the future achievement of the Open University and FDAP Professional Awards for Drug & Alcohol Practitioners. And with only 12 candidates allowed on each programme you’ll get plenty of attention and time to get the most from the qualification.
How is this programme delivered?
You’ll get three consecutive days consisting of seven 50 minute sessions each day. The delivery will engage you and the stories and examples will resonate with you - because it’s practical and relevant. Our facilitators are exciting, creative and innovative and have been extensively involved in the delivery of DANOS Performer since 2002 within the substance misuse sector and understand the unique role carried out by drug professionals. Each facilitator has over 25 year’s experience of successful senior management responsibility at operational and strategic level for teams of up to 100 staff. They won’t gloss over the realities of applying the principles covered on this programme - but will give you lots of techniques and strategies that really work. No PowerPoint slides and no boring lectures - this is no “chalk and talk”!
