Verena’s early career was spent in engineering companies Hawker Sideley Dynamics Engineering Limited; International General Electric and Research Machines (Oxford) Limited first as a computer programmer and then as a Systems Analyst.
Later, Verena moved into Higher Education working at the Open University for 15 years, firstly as a Systems Analyst in Management Services before taking up the role of Course Manager and Associate Lecturer in the Faculty of Science.
This latter role involved the development of new programmes for long-distance learners, administering the presentation of courses as well as developing web-based support for students and learning materials such as CD-ROMs. Verena also serviced exam boards and was responsible for ensuring that the University’s standards and procedures were adhered to at all times.
Verena has joined Human Performance as an assessor of our Level 3 EDI Endorsed Qualifications. Her experience working at the Open University’s Residential Schools as an associate lecturer - where she gave local tutorials to students as well as marking assignments and exam papers – will ensure that the company continue to maintain the highest standards of assessment.
