Whisky Galore Movie Posters

In 1934, artist Tom Eckersley launched a partnership with Eric Lambers which generated some highly successful graphics for London Transport, the General Post Office, the BBC, Shell Mex, and Austin Reed. During the war years they produced posters together and individually for the Ministry of Information and the GPO.

Tom Eckersley’s poster for Whisky Galore combines drawings and photographs with Joan Greenwood and Basil Radford immersed in a giant whisky bottle dominating the tight little island of Todday.

This poster was designed for the UK cinema industry.
